OUR STORY

Mountain Pacific Scenics (MPS) is owned and operated by Maurice Despins.  The business started after many elite fellow modelers encouraged him to manufacture the trestle bridges from what they seen of his work.  His background in architecture and engineering proved to be a benefit  in drawing and building these bridges.  Then he developed a process to making realistic deciduous foliage.  Hence both trestle bridges and foliage products were the beginning of Mountain Pacific Scenics.  We realize that there are many products available to create scenery, however Maurice wanted to develop something more realistic for deciduous trees/shrubs.  The business has now developed into additional scenic products, dioramas and more.

MPS has been manufacturing model wood trestle bridge kits and deciduous tree foliage since 2000.  Bridge kits contain 6 piles per bent as many modelers are in modern time.  It is easy to convert from 6 piles to 5 piles for those modelers wanting to replica earlier time period.  Our bridge kits and snow sheds are not prototypical, however incorporate proper engineering design principals and usually fashioned from one we’ve seen.  Furthermore, you may order a kit and have us build it for you at additional cost.

We also custom build trestle bridges and dioramas.  Please contact us with your requirements for an estimate.

Our tree/shrub foliage is available in fine (available in large or small package) and extra fine.  We will produce medium foliage on  special orders for those modelling in larger scale like ¼” (50mm) and up.

All our products are handcrafted.  Hence mass production does not exist.  Should an item be out of stock, it may take a little longer on delivery.  The good part about this is you are getting a quality product.  Should a part in the kit be missing or damaged, please let us know and we will send you the part.  That also applies to a part you may have messed up.  Furthermore, you may call us should you have questions about assembling your kit or any other questions related to our products.

We generally ship in one week, but can take up to four weeks depending on production schedules.  Custom orders, like building a bridge or diorama for the client, may take much longer.  These clients are informed of an estimated delivery date.  We ship by Canada Post unless the client specifies differently.  We do ship internationally.

Our pricing is in Canadian dollars and does not include shipping and handling, taxes, duties, brokerage fees and any other additional charges.  Prices subject to change without notice.
